I could have given this post any number of titles… I could have named it ‘Beaded‘ as an ode to my favorite little accessories designer in Buenos Aires, Mariana Diaz of Delduca. She reinvented an old technique from the 50s and 60s and uses beads (acrylic, plastic, crystal or wood), nylon thread and a pair of pliers to make bags and necklaces in color combinations and patterns that make me weak in the knees. You know how you can sometimes just be grateful something exists, even if you never knew it could make a difference in your life? It’s those little things… (I joke.) I don’t quite remember why I felt inclined to stick one such necklace on my head and wear it like a crown, but it was quite a revelation and one that none of my fellow subway riders on the L train were ready for…
